Student Health Services FAQs
Student Health Services is located by Parking Lot 8, behind the football field.
- Fall/Spring: Monday through Thursday 8:30am - 4:00pm, and Friday 8:30am-1:30pm
- Summer: Monday through Thursday 8:30am - 4:00pm, and closed Fridays
Student Health Services offers a variety of services which include:
- Free over the counter medication
- Physical exams
- TB skin testing
- Birth control
- Illness assessment
- STD/STI testing
- Immunization reviews
Students can schedule appointments, online, by phone, and in person.
Most services are covered by your Student Health Fee. Some services, like lab work,
will have an additional fee. For questions about specific services fees, please contact
Student Health Services.
No, we do not accept private insurance.
Please bring a form of identification (Student ID card, or State ID card), and any
forms that you are needing filled out (e.g., program physical form).
No appointment is needed to see the college nurse; however, an appointment is necessary
to see the nurse practitioner.
If you experience a medical emergency, please call 911, or go to your closest emergency
room.
No, Student Health Services does not fill prescriptions.
- Students have the right to access their medical records maintained by the institution. To facilitate this process, students must follow the outlined procedure to ensure their request is handled efficiently and in compliance with applicable privacy laws.
- Students wishing to access their medical records must visit the Student Health Office in person.
- Requests for access cannot be processed via phone, email, or other electronic means.
- Upon visiting the office, students must complete and submit a Medical Records Release Form.
Services are confidential, however, the law in the State of California mandates
that information may be appropriately shared when the following conditions exist:
If you present an imminent threat of harm to yourself or others. When there is an
indication of abuse of a child, dependent adult or elderly adult.

The session will involve discussing what brings you to therapy. You’ll talk about the issues or challenges you’re facing and what you hope to achieve through therapy. This helps the therapist understand your perspective and goals.
Gathering Background Information
The therapist may ask questions about your personal history, including any relevant medical, psychological, or social background. This helps them gain a comprehensive understanding of your situation and context.
Setting Goals
Together, you’ll discuss your goals for therapy. This involves identifying what you hope to accomplish and how you envision the therapy process unfolding. Setting clear goals helps in creating a focused and tailored treatment plan.

issues.
Your counselor will have a conversation with you about your needs and provide referrals
for long-term mental health care.

- Collateral Sessions - A collateral is usually a spouse, family member, or friend who participates in therapy to further the treatment interests of the patient.
