Online Graduation Filing

The Graduation Application link will be ACTIVE during filing dates only.

You are eligible to apply for your degree or certificate if you are currently in-progress of graduation requirements or have previously completed requirements.

  • Fall 2024 - Ended:  October 1, 2024
  • Spring 2025 - January 21 - March 1, 2025
  • Summer 2025 - March 2nd - July 1, 2025
  • SBVC offers one commencement ceremony each year.  Apply by April 5, 2024 to participate in the 2024 Commencement Ceremony.  If you apply during the summer filing period or will complete course requirements during the summer you are considered a summer applicant!
 

Steps to Apply for & Receive Diploma

  1. Order official transcripts sent to San Bernardino Valley College.
  2. Request Evaluation of your previous college transcript (Transfer Credit Evaluation).
  3. Meet with a SBVC Counselor to upload your Starfish Grad Check.
  4. Apply Online Beginning First Day of Each Semester (Tip:  Clear Cache to acess application)
  5. Applicants are confirmed in a final evaluation before posting to the student transcript.  Diplomas/Certificates will be printed 2-3 months after each semester.  Digital and paper documents are provided.

    • Summer 2024 - 09/13/24

Processing your graduation evaluations during peak periods (6-8 weeks).  Your status of eligibility is sent to student email for Active students (All others sent to email identified in your application).

Once you are found to be eligible for a degree or certificate, the college will send email notification to access your paper and digital diploma!  Do NOT place a order for your Parchment Diploma!

Substitutions and Exceptions

When a student is deficient in one or more of the areas required for graduation, he/she has the option of requesting a Petition for Academic Exception. Petitions are considered on the basis of overall merit and is reviewed by the Scholastic Standards Committee.

If a student is deficient in the area of Major Requirements a Modification of Major form must be submitted at time of application.  Please see Division Office for review to approve.

Note: Twelve units, or 50% of the coursework required for a certificate, whichever is the lesser, must be completed at San Bernardino Valley College.  This residency requirement may be waived in the case of extenuating circumstances with the approval of the Division Dean and Chairperson.

Duplicate (Replacement) Diplomas/Certificates

Important — Read Before Ordering a Replacement Diploma

  • Replacement diplomas are for someone who previously received their degree or certificate and it was misplaced, destroyed or you just want an additional copy. 
  • If you are pending award of a degree or certificate in the current semester, please email sbvcadmissions@valleycollege.edu for further information.

To order a copy of your diploma or certificate:

  1. Create a Learner Account with Parchment
  2. Cost:  $10 per document
  3. ETA:  2 weeks for printing & delivery
