International Student Admission Requirements
International student applications are accepted for fall and spring semesters, as well as summer sessions.
Applicants are required to submit a complete:
- International application package
- Online application to the college
The deadlines to apply and submit the international application packages are:
- May 1 for fall semesters
- October 1 for spring semesters
- March 1 for summer sessions

COMPLETE application package should include the following documents (all documents need to be original/official):

High school diploma, or the proof of high school graduation.

International Student Application for Admissions. (complete the form, print it out, sign and date)

Complete California Department of Health Tuberculosis Risk Assessment. Submit TB Risk Assessment and TB test result (dated within the past 6 months) or get tested at San Bernardino Valley College's Student Health Services for $15. Health insurance must also be purchased prior to the beginning of the semester.

Nonrefundable application fee of $25.00 (cashier's check or money order,) payable to San Bernardino Valley College. A personal check from a U.S. bank is also acceptable.

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score. The minimum score required for admissions is 45-46/iBT (Internet-based test.) Information regarding test dates and locations can be found at www.ets.org. San Bernardino Valley College's Institution Code is 04679. The college also accepts IELTS minimum score of 4.5. If you think you may be eligible for an TOEFL/IELTS waiver, please complete TOEFL/IELTS Waiver Request Form and submit it with supporting documentation. Official transcript(s) or official academic records from high school and college/university attended, accompanied by a notarized translation if the originals are not in English. Applicants with higher education need to have a minimum of C grade average from college/university in order to be considered for admissions to our college.

Financial documents. Proof of available funds to cover your educational cost and living expenses for the duration of your studies in San Bernardino Valley College. The estimated annual cost is $31,602 U.S. dollars or higher.

Photocopy of the applicant's passport, providing information on applicant’s name, date of birth and the expiration date of the passport.

Photocopy of the applicant’s current I-94, I-20 and visa (if the applicant is currently studying in the U.S.)
In addition to submitting your complete application package to the college, please also complete San Bernardino Valley College (general) Application online.
If an applicant is admitted to the college, a letter of acceptance and an I-20 Form (used to apply for a student visa in an American embassy) will be mailed to the applicant.
Applicants who are currently in the USA with a different visa, must submit the I-539- Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status to request change of status to F1 Visa after receiving your I-20 from SBVC. Your I-20 and acceptance letter from SBVC will be part of what is required to submit the I-539 application. Please send the I-539 submission receipt number to your DSO within 7 days of receiving your I-20.
