FYE Helps Bridge The Gap For Incoming VBC Students
SBVC’s First Year Experience program held its first in-person Summer Bridge in July, allowing the newest cohort of Valley-Bound Commitment students to connect with SBVC counselors and staff and learn more about the campus before beginning classes this fall.
Over 100 students participated in the bridge and had an opportunity to connect with each other and campus personnel to prepare for life as a fully-equipped college student.
“This was a wonderful opportunity for our counselors and staff to meet our incoming students,” said Sharaf Williams, Director of First Year Experience. “We have so many great programs available to help our students thrive in the post-pandemic space, and it is fulfilling to see our students making those connections now.”
