Best-selling author and editor of OC Weekly to appear at free event on Thursday, October 10, 2013, from 1-2 p.m.

In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, the SBVC Arts, Lectures, & Diversity Committee will welcome best-selling author and OC Weekly editor, Gustavo Arellano, on Thursday, October 10, at 1 p.m. in the new Conference Center inside the newly-renovated Business Building.

Sponsored by the SBVC Arts, Lectures, and Diversity Committee, the free event will feature Arellano sharing excerpts from his latest book released earlier this year: Taco USA: How Mexican Food Conquered America. Additionally, he will be take part in a question/answer session and sign copies of his book. The SBVC Bookstore will have copies of his latest book and his 2008 bestseller ¡Ask A Mexican! available for purchase for $12.00 each.

About Gustavo Arellano 

Gustavo Arellano is the editor of OC Weekly, an alternative newspaper in Orange County, California, author of Orange County: A Personal History and Taco USA: How Mexican Food Conquered America, and lecturer with the Chicana and Chicano Studies department at California State University, Fullerton. He writes “¡Ask a Mexican!,” a nationally syndicated column in which he answers any and all questions about America’s spiciest and largest minority. The column has a weekly circulation of over 2 million in 39 newspapers across the United States, won the 2006 and 2008 Association of Alternative Weeklies award for Best Column, and was published in book form by Scribner Press in May 2007.
