Financial Aid Starts with a FREE Application

Ready to get help paying for college? Most types of financial aid start with completing either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act (for dreamers).

  • You must apply for financial aid every academic year.
  • The earlier you apply, the better! The priority deadline is March 2nd
  • SBVC's school code is  #001272. You'll need that to apply!

If you are a US Citizen or Permanent Resident, complete the FAFSA.

If you are an Undocumented, AB 540 eligible student (nonresident students exempt from paying nonresident tuition), complete the CA Dream Act. View AB 540 eligibility requirements.

Check your Student Email account, Financial Aid Self-Service, and Campus Logic portal 7-10 days after submission for any required documents that MUST be electronically uploaded to the Financial Aid Office.
Students must submit all required documentation to the SBVC Financial Aid Office as soon as possible. Most required documents can be downloaded online by clicking on the link for Online Forms. All student files are processed, in date order, based on the date the last document was received; processing may take a minimum of 4-6 weeks. Review your Financial Aid Offer Letter in Financial Aid Self-Service to see the aid you qualified for.
Students must select a refund preference with BankMobile Disbursements, a technology solution, powered by BMTX, Inc. More information can be found at BankMobile Disbursements Refund Choices. Students who do not enroll for electronic direct deposit will receive a paper check by mail at least three weeks after the posted disbursement date.
