Getting Started
- Apply to SBVC at valleycollege.edu/apply
- Complete all prerequisites before applying to the program
- If you would like to obtain information directly from a team member, please complete the "Information Request"
- It's highly recommended to attend a virtual workshop - see home page
- Apply to the Psychiatric Technician Program during the available time frame
- Proof of High School completion (Transcripts, G.E.D. score , or previous college degree)
- Official college transcripts from all colleges or universities attended, except SBVC or Crafton Hills College. (International graduates must have transcripts evaluated prior to applying to the program)
- Complete the via-online application during the following dates: September 1st through September 15th and January 2nd through February 1st (or next business day if due date falls on a weekend). Completed applications must include proof of completion of the prerequisites and high school graduation or GED.
- Registration in the program courses is limited to students who have completed program prerequisites, have applied, been accepted into the program and availability of space. The program is three semesters (including summer) in length, not including completion of prerequisites. Classes and clinical experiences are scheduled Monday through Friday (day time only). Students are admitted twice a year in the fall and spring semesters.
- Note: A clear background check and health requirements must be completed before enrollment in the program. California may deny a license to an applicant based on a conviction or legal action substantially related to professional practice.
