SBVC Custodian Coaches After-School Track Club for Local Youth

Jerry Mason, currently a custodian at SBVC, and his brother-in-law Thomas Ray Palmore created an after-school track & field club when the need was dire. Reflecting on his history in athletics, Jerry was an incredible athlete at Cajon High School--but he never got the support he needed. Turning his past into tinder for flame, Jerry brandished a simple attitude: "Let's go out here and start helping these kids," and T.J. Striders has spread through the Inland Empire community like wildfire.

Ana Bojorquez knows all the ins and outs, and nooks and crannies of every corner of the San Bernardino Valley College High Tech Center. It's something that she learned the hard way. Every piece of software and programming platforms that she guides her disabled students through started from her own first-hand experience. She became the go-to person at the lab quite by accident.
SBVC Diesel Technology Department Awarded $25,000 Grant

Recently the Heavy/Medium Duty Diesel Truck Technology Department, a green-conscious mouthful of a department at San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC) just received their second round of gracious bounty: the Environmental Champions Award of $25,000 by Sempra Energy. More specifically a Career Technical Education program, the alternative fuel program for CNG/Electric/Hybrid vehicles is getting attention-fueled among community colleges.
Valley-Bound Program Alumna Returns to Work at SBVC

After graduating from Colton High School, Raney started taking classes at SBVC in 2009. A first-generation college student, her education was made by possible by the Valley-Bound program, which prepares students as they transition into college. Her father worked manual labor, and she said he would tell her, "'I want you to go to college so you can carry a briefcase instead of a lunch pail.' This has resonated with me throughout my entire life."
SBVC Hosting First Nationally-Syndicated Native American Stand-Up Comedy Show

San Bernardino Valley College is hosting the taping of a groundbreaking comedy series that features Native American stand-up comedians and some of the biggest national names in stand-up comedy. Dubbed The First Nations Comedy Experience, the show is taped live on campus and syndicated nationally through First Nations Experience (FNX), the first and only TV channel exclusively devoted to Native American and World Indigenous content.
