Former Air Force Commando Receives Full Ride Scholarship at Loma Linda University

Jonathan Montano has dedicated his life to serving others. When the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks happened just months after he graduated from Taos High School in New Mexico, Montano joined the Air Force. "I felt a stronger urge to serve my country before I did any type of college education," he said.
SBVC Psychiatric Technology Program Number One on State Exams

San Bernardino Valley College's Psychiatric Technology program once again had the best results for the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians' exam during the spring 2017 semester, ahead of 14 other colleges.
SBVC Hosts Records Number of Attendees at Monthly IE Disabilities Collaborative Meetings

It has been no less than a cavalcade of attendees to the meetings by the Inland Empire Disabilities Collaborative (IEDC)?--?a large advocacy network for people with disabilities?--?at San Bernardino Valley College over the past few months, with each person boasting hearty smiles and sentimental echoes of their shared life experiences. Attendees with various ties to disabled services in the community have shown and continue to show their support in this SBVC cohort.
SBVC Partners with Flight School at San Bernardino International Airport

San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC) has entered into a partnership with World Wide Wings, a flight school based at San Bernardino International Airport. This partnership allows for SBVC students to complete a commercial pilot license (CPL) or certified flight instructor license (CFI) while studying for an associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance or Avionics Technology. Upon completion of a CFI, students will have the opportunity to work as flight instructors at World Wide Wings.
SBVC Continues to Transform Technical Education Programs

Since the beginning of the year, San Bernardino Valley College's Applied Technology, Transportation and Culinary Arts Division has worked to upgrade its curriculum and equipment, allowing it to boast having one of the most impressive career and technical education (CTE) programs in the state. The Applied Technology division at SBVC awards hundreds of degrees and certificates annually in welding, heavy-duty diesel technology, automotive technology, automotive collision, machinist technology, culinary arts, food nutrition, baking, electricity/electronics, HVAC/R, inspection technology and aeronautics, and the number of graduates continues to grow.

On May 9, San Bernardino Valley College was officially recognized as a statewide historic site by the Native Sons of the Golden West, a service organization dedicated to historic preservation. The college was recognized for providing over 90 years of comprehensive education and for being a regional leader in career and technical education.
