First Psych Tech Cohort to Learn Entirely through Pandemic Graduates
A very special cohort of Psych Tech students graduated on August 6. These 20 students were the first to make it entirely through the COVID-19 pandemic, wearing surgical masks and face shields and going through daily or weekly COVID-19 testing. These students were up to the challenge, as they navigated a new world of virtual and recorded lectures and online study groups and meetings.
The cohort went to Canyon Springs Community Facility, Del Rosa Villa Post Acute, Waterman Canyon Post-Acute, and San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital; worked with virtual special needs classrooms at Cajon and Pacific High Schools; and went to Patton State Hospital while several units were under quarantine. They did their clinical rotations on site, as SBVC was able to find locations that could accommodate all of the students.
